    Job Description

    BrainPOP creates cross-curricular digital content that engages students and supports teachers. We feature animated movies, student creation and reflection tools, learning games, and interactive quizzes to customizable and playful assessments, lesson plans, professional development opportunities, and beyond. Based in the Flatiron District in NYC, with an office in Tel Aviv, BrainPOP is used in over 40% of US elementary and middle schools, and welcomes millions of monthly site visitors.

    Were seeking a Learning and Development Manager to join our team in our New York City office. Youll be spending your time working very closely with teams across the organization, identifying and producing training content that supports all employees to do their work more effectively. We have an internal system that weve just implemented this year and were eager to add to and refine the training content weve created. Internal training is a new growth area for us and were excited to ramp up the work!

    A DAY IN THE LIFE

    Company-wide training and development

    • Set the yearlong curriculum for staff including special speakers, company wide trainings and special interest workshops
    • Work with people team to create a specialized curriculum on Manager training, feedback and performance management
    • Small event planning when relevant to support DEI committee and seasonal culture activities

    Oversee our Learning Management System

    • Working with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to identify and produce high priority, high quality content for company-wide training.
    • Working closely with the Educators team to ensure the pedagogical soundness of content
    • Developing streamlined processes for content creation, approval and publishing.
    • Share reports on learner progress with managers and executive team.
    • Work closely with the product manager for internal tools to evaluate the efficacy of our internal training against defined success metrics.
    • Develop feedback processes with the company at large to make sure that the training provided is effective and meets learner needs.
    • Work with vendors to identify and adapt existing third party content where possible to continue to expand our library of available training.
    • Working with the vendor to identify new features that are available through the platform and finding solid internal use cases to experiment and implement them.
    • Maintaining up to date user lists and groups.

    Employee and Brand Engagement

    • Write and post on our social media page after small events and in other notable cases.
    • Plan, create, communicate and execute many internal virtual and in person small events on the office including happy hours, trivia nights, office movie screenings, holiday celebrations, special events, special guests
    • Coordinate our weekly Lunch and Learn Series, coordinate Town Halls and other company events.

    ON YOUR RESUME

    • Experience Facilitating or leading webinars and large meetings.
    • Teaching experience may be a plus.
    • Experience creating a curriculum/plan for learning organization wide
    • Experience managing an internal learning management system
    • Experience in building training modules and identifying and importing third party training content.
    • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to build content internally.
    • Demonstrated experience evaluating and improving existing processes.

    YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

    • Background in Organizational Psychology/Interest in Org psychology
    • Prior experience working in Human Relations/People team functions in the past
    • Experience with Lessonly a plus
    • Experience developing online learning content
    • A gift with puns
