The position requires a leader who understands both the operational and business sides of commercial landscaping. Success will depend on the ability to balance people management, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability.

    Key Responsibilities

    Branch Leadership & Team Development

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers, account managers, and field personnel.

    • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability throughout the branch.

    • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture built on trust, communication, and mutual respect.

    • Develop future leaders through coaching, training, and professional development.

    • Ensure effective communication and coordination between operations, account management, and field teams.

    • Support recruiting, staffing, employee retention, and workforce planning.

    Operations Management

    • Oversee commercial landscape maintenance operations, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

    • Work closely with operations leaders to manage labor productivity, crew scheduling, equipment utilization, and service delivery.

    • Establish structured operating plans, communicate priorities, and ensure consistent follow-through.

    • Monitor production performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.

    • Maintain high standards for safety, quality control, and operational execution.

    • Ensure the branch has the personnel, equipment, and resources necessary to meet customer expectations.

    Financial Performance & Profitability

    • Take ownership of branch financial performance, including revenue, operating expenses, labor efficiency, and profitability.

    • Develop and manage operating budgets and financial performance objectives.

    • Analyze financial reports, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions.

    • Maintain disciplined labor and expense management to achieve profitability goals.

    • Balance operational performance, customer satisfaction, and sustainable revenue growth.

    Customer Relations & Business Development

    • Oversee customer retention and ensure strong relationships with commercial property managers, HOAs, and other commercial clients.

    • Support account managers in identifying enhancement opportunities and expanding relationships with existing customers.

    • Partner with sales and business development teams to support new business growth.

    • Assist with customer presentations, proposals, pricing strategies, and contract renewals.

    • Serve as a senior point of contact for important customer relationships and service-related issues.

    • Ensure the branch delivers a consistent, responsive, and professional customer experience.

    Planning, Organization & Accountability

    • Monitor performance against established goals and ensure commitments are fulfilled.

    • Utilize operational software, reporting tools, and performance metrics to improve efficiency and decision-making.

    • Promote a proactive management approach rather than reacting to problems as they arise.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Experience overseeing a multimillion-dollar commercial landscape operation with multiple management-level direct reports.

    • Demonstrated success improving branch profitability, employee performance, customer retention, and revenue growth.
