    Job Description

    We at BraneStorme are looking to hire a fullf-stack iOS developer looking to help address the needs of those suffering from anxiety and depression. Early stage startup---BraneStorme is a mental health focused social network that allows users to connect with community through conversation, music-therapy, and breakout rooms aimed to empower users to speak openly about mental health awareness.

    The full-stack iOS developer's primary focus will be development of BraneStorme's MVP (minimal viable product).  BraneStorme founder and CEO--Emanuel Thomas, has completed an interactive prototype (via Figma and InVisionApp), along with the apps Information architecture and user-flow charts (via Whimsical), so the developer wouldn't be starting from scratch.

    BraneStorme is ready for code. Founder and CEO,--Emanuel Thomas is offering a 20% equity-stake, alongside my 15% stake. 5% equity-stakes will be offered to 3 engineers (each) hired after the full-stack iOS developer, and the remaining 50% of the company will be for outside investors, angels, and VCs.

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Design and build MVP for the BraneStorme iOS platform
    • Be prepared to iterate the BraneStorme MVP "OFTEN"
    • Monitor the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the BraneStorme MVP.
    • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs with the MVP
    • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization of the BraneStorme MVP

    Required Skills

    • Proficient operating knowledge of Xcode--along with Objective-C, Swift, and C#
    • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
    • Experience with repositories, offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
    • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
    • Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
    • Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred
    • Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools
    • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (SUCH AS GIT, MERCURIAL OR SVN)
    • Design client-side and server-side architecture
    • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
    • Write effective APIs
    • Create security and data protection settings
    • Write technical documentation
