    DIVISION: BRANNAN SAND + GRAVEL

    POSITION: PROJECT ENGINEER - ASPHALT PAVING

    REPORTS TO: AREA MANAGER

    FLSA STATUS: FULL TIME

    LOCATION: LIPAN PLANT, 5880 LIPAN ST, DENVER, CO 80216

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This is a hybrid position that that includes both field and office duties. You will work directly under the project manager and superintendent and help to ensure high quality paving projects. Field duties of this position include but are not limited to communicating goals and directions effectively to the crews, identifying problem areas on jobs, help overcome field obstacles, and provide quality control. This position is also responsible for daily interactions with any subcontractors, inspectors, owners/GC s, etc. The office side of this role includes assisting the Project Manager with estimating change orders, RFIs, generating takeoff quantities for future jobs, and assisting the Project Manger in the bidding process.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure that budgets are met when planning and executing work.

    Discuss and implement best practices for site safety.

    Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.

    Estimate change orders.

    Assist in maintaining the schedule.

    Directly manage field operations with Superintendent to ensure that plan is properly communicated and executed.

    Monitor field progress to ensure that project goals are being met or exceeded.

    Develop action plans to resolve construction related issues incurred in the field.

    Externally, maintain good client relationships.

    Attend job meetings as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Engineering and Construction experience is a plus, but not required

    Paving and asphalt experience are a plus

    Must be able to multi-task

    Ability to be self-motivating, dependable, a team player, and perform duties with little supervision.

    Strong computer skills required.

    Must have valid Driver's License

    Excellent time management skills; good planning skills

    Able to work in outdoor setting under varying weather conditions

    Able to work night, weekends and flexible hours

    SALARY RANGE: $55,000.00 TO $85,000.00
