Qualifications required:
- Valid Cosmetology license for the State of Georgia
- Compliance with local and state operating guide lines
Position Summary:
- Be able to perform hair services
- Be proficient in formal hair styles and updo of hair
- Perform scalp treatments and conditioning treatments
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of Salon area at all times
Responsibilities:
- Setting, blow drying, creating formal hair styles
- Minimum haircutting required
- Maintain a clean area before each appointment
- Greet guests in a friendly manner and consult with them to meet their expectations
- Promptly report any maintenance and equipment issues relating to the Salon
- Complete pre opening and closing checklists on a daily basis
- Maintain restocking of the work area and updating of the inventory and operating supplies for the hair Salon
- Assist in special duties and assignments as required
- Participates in group demonstrations / lectures when needed
- Attend hair shows or classes to keep updated on current industry trends
- Adhere to proper dress code and grooming standards
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to and must engage in interpersonal relations with guests. The employee must walk and climb stairs. The noise level of the area is frequently lower than that of a normal conversation level. The employee is exposed to various types of cosmetics, and therefore must be aware of certain health and safety restrictions for those.
Certificates, Licenses or Registrations: An active Georgia Cosmetology
Other Qualifications: Must be bright and personable and have the ability to get along with others. Should be highly service oriented, possess exemplary personal skills and be well organized. Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Should be able to understand Brasstown Valley Resort’s objectives and have the potential to achieve employee and departmental goals.
Specific Duties: (Others may be assigned.)
- Commitment to and demonstration of our Corporate Culture, Vision, Values, Mission and Goals at all times.
- Complete in-house orientation program, which includes all policies and procedures as per the manual and employee handbook.
- Have complete knowledge of all Spa services, packages, promotions and retail products presently offered by the Spa.
- Have the ability to perform any hair service that is currently offered on the menu, or by promotion.
- Maintain current license, give copies of such license to the Spa Office Manager, and display the original during any and all treatments.
- Practice within the safety guidelines and health codes of OSHA, Brasstown Valley Resort and the State of Georgia.
- Present a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Be punctual and prepared for your day. Attend lineup prior to first appointment. If schedule does not allow your attendance at lineup, read the notes for that day and ask questions on anything that is not understood.
- Begin and end each appointment on time. No service will be conducted before or after regular operational hours unless approved by the Spa Manager or Director.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area throughout the shift in a professional manner. This may include re-stocking treatment supplies, re-setting, folding fresh towels and laying out fresh linens.
- Participate in all pre-opening and closing procedures, including pre-setting, some cleaning and restocking for the day. End of the day cleaning checklist must be completed before you punch out.
- Understand and adhere to all ordering and product requisition procedures.
- Avoid discussing personal problems with the clients or with co-workers in guest areas.
- Perform consultation and post treatment prescriptions/recommendations for each client.
- Smoking is not allowed while on shift, nor on property.
- Assist other Spa associates/co-worders whenever possible.
- Attend all required departmental and spa training, inventory, educational events, workshops and general meetings.
- The resort functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours per day. All Associates must realize this fact and be aware that it may be necessary to adjust the Associate’s work schedule from his/her accustomed shift due to business demands.
- Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other Resort associates to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
- Responsible for knowing and abiding by all departmental, Coral Hospitality, and Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa policies and procedures.
