    IRRIGATION FOREMAN

    BraveView Inc. was hired is a family-owned full-service landscape operation located in the Mid-Atlantic, Delaware, and Pittsburgh and is recognized as a top 25 landscaper in the United States.

    BraveView’s client has an immediate need for a professional multitasking, flexible Irrigation Foreman in the Washington, D.C. mid-Atlantic region.

    The Irrigation Foreman is responsible for supervising the irrigation crew assigned so that jobs are completed on time, within budget and the work performed is of the highest quality. The Irrigation Foreman is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all aspects of commercial and residential irrigation installations from the start of the project to their completion. You will be responsible for training and supervising all field employees assigned to your job sites. Other duties and responsibilities include:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Installs, operates and maintains the company’s jobs from the job site under the supervision of a Project Manager.
    • Directs and supervises the activities of all employees assigned to their job sites in order to achieve performance for the quantity and quality of work produced.
    • Supervises all job site operations/work assignments and ensures that labor, materials, and equipment are operating at a level to satisfy job requirements in the most efficient and effective manner.
    • Ensures the proper documentation of weekly and or daily job reports, extra work, as-builts, etc. and seeks ways to improve crew efficiency.
    • Communicate with supervisors on a regular basis in an effort to ensure a “successful” working relationship
    • Layout and communicate Jobsite issues to Project Manager.
    • Analyze and determine when additional on-site work is required outside of directed scope and possess the ability to diagnose, and inform Project Manager in advance to maximize company profitability
    • Identify areas where “cost-saving” measures may be identified
    • Takes immediate corrective action when quality control problems arise.
    • Monitors and enforces all company and safety policies, rules, regulations, and OSHA standards
    • Oversees tools and equipment to ensure proper usage, and to prevent loss or breakdown.
    • Reports any problems with equipment and vehicles at the job site to the Project Manager so that downtime is kept to a minimum
    • Ensures that all field staff performance is adequate daily.
    • Communicate to Project Manager when staff assigned violates company policies and procedures.
    • The individual will also be required to assist the Project Manager in all aspects of the job on-site.
    • Completes any additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager.

    Skills and Educational Requirements:

    Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Must have a general knowledge of irrigation and the design intent. Must be able to read plans and blueprints, possess some ability to foresee possible on-site issues. Must be a self-starter and must be a team player.

    Inner Relationships:

    Individual must be able to interact well with the customer, personnel within the company, and on-site supervision.

    Reports To: Project Manager

    Working Conditions:

    The Irrigation Foreman position is an hourly position that requires you to work a minimum 40-70 hour workweek. Scheduled work weeks will vary and will be determined based upon workload, seasonal scheduling, and weather. The employee will be required to work some weekends, special company events and or promotions thought out the year. Snow removal is a requirement during the winter months.

    Needed Attributes:

    Verbal ability. Ability to foresee possible conflicts on-site with plans and report potential problems to Project Manager. Ability to analyze and suggest calculated cost-effective decisions to project Manager. Flexibility to perform a variety of tasks under time performance pressure, often changing assignments on short notice.
