Position Summary

Fairfield Inn & Suites Matteson Chicago is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Breakfast Attendant to create an excellent breakfast experience for our guests.

The Breakfast Attendant will prepare, present, replenish, and maintain the complimentary Fairfield breakfast while delivering genuine hospitality in accordance with Marriott and Garnet Hotels standards.

The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, inviting, and fully stocked breakfast area.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a warm and friendly greeting.

Prepare and set up breakfast according to Fairfield Inn & Suites standards.

Maintain attractive food presentation throughout service.

Replenish food, beverages, coffee, juice, condiments, utensils, and supplies.

Monitor food temperatures, freshness, quality, and expiration dates.

Keep food-preparation and dining areas clean, organized, and sanitized.

Answer guest questions and respond promptly to requests.

Assist with dietary questions and notify management of special requests when needed.

Follow food-safety, sanitation, and health-department requirements.

Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.

Properly store, label, and rotate food using FIFO procedures.

Report equipment or maintenance concerns promptly.

Work with other hotel departments to support guest satisfaction.

Thank guests and help them begin their day with a positive experience.

Qualifications

Previous food-service, customer-service, or hospitality experience is preferred.

Positive attitude and passion for guest service.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices is preferred.

ServSafe Food Handler certification or ability to obtain it upon hire.

Availability for early-morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Marriott hotel experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, and pull.

Ability to work efficiently during busy breakfast periods.
