About the position Truly memorable mornings at the Colonial Inn in Harbor Springs start off with our delicious breakfasts surrounded by exquisite ambiance. We’re searching for a Breakfast Cook who will be able to keep our buffet stocked with delicious hot and cold prepared breakfast items, prepared according to our company's standards of excellence.
Note: This is an hourly, seasonal position of 6 months or less requiring at least 40 hours per week. Overtime premiums will be applied for any hours over 40 worked per week.
Key responsibilities
Set up, restock, and break down the breakfast buffet line, ensuring a consistent, high-quality presentation.
Prepare breakfast items according to recipes and menu standards.
Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace, including proper labeling, storage, and rotation of food items to ensure freshness.
Manage time effectively to meet high-volume demand during peak morning hours.
Monitor food quantities, minimize waste, and assist with inventory tracking, ordering items as needed
Coordinate with waitstaff and kitchen team members to ensure smooth service.
Requirements
At least 2 years of previous experience in food service required; breakfast experience preferred
Solid knowledge of cooking techniques including griddle work and egg preparation.
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation protocols.
Ability to work early morning shifts and stand for long periods.
