We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments, and slice and dice food. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organizational skills, the ability to take directions well, and the ability to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Responsibilities: • Prepare recipes using the proper measurements needed for condiments and wash dice, and slice fruits and vegetables, and meats, for the variety of meals we prepare for customers • Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and stations where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is used • Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly • Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close • Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple recipes such as soups, sauce reduction, and brewing coffee and tea Qualifications: • You have the basic skills necessary to prep food for a chef/cook with minimal supervision expected • Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools • We’d prefer it if you have an associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job • Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds Compensation: $16 - $17 hourly
