    Brella opened its first child care center in Playa Vista and we are looking for teachers who are excited about building a new model of child care that responds to families' varying child care needs, while also delivering the highest quality experiences for children. 

    Currently, we are looking for SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS with immediate availability who embrace change, are eager to learn, take pride in what they do and see their time with children no matter how long or short as a learning opportunity.  WE ARE OPEN M-F 8AM-6PM AND OUR PAY FOR SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS IS $21/HOUR ($23/HOUR FOR SHORT TERM NOTICE/DAY OF)

    AS A SUBSTITUTE PRESCHOOL TEACHER YOU WILL:

    • Be available for on-demand teacher needs throughout the week. We will notify you as much as 1 week ahead of time, but sometimes less
    • Provide a safe and loving environment for young children
    • Maintain a well-organized, developmentally appropriate, and beautiful classroom by continually evaluating and enhancing the environment
    • Model empathy through respect, response, and gentle guidance
    • Supervise, observe and engage as children work with age appropriate, stimulating and thoughtful materials
    • Set up intentional provocations, explorations, art experiences, and extensions.
    • Actively participate in meetings, workshops, special events and trainings
    • Create ongoing and meaningful long term projects, learning opportunities for class of children
    • Promote literacy, STEAM, self help skills, and social/emotional growth through engaging and contextual projects.

    EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

    • Candidate will need to have AT LEAST 12 ECE units
    • Must meet the requirements of the California Department of Social Services (licensing), including an updated TB status, CPR certification, fingerprint clearance
    • Ability to be flexible, willingness to cooperate, desire to be helpful, “yes”-mentality.
    • A collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn from others
    • A “can do” attitude, someone who views problems and challenges as opportunities for growth
    • Proactively seeks out resources to continually improve one's practice
    • Finds joy in working with children and adults
    • Expertise in early learning/development and group care settings, including knowledge of current research, regulations, and best practices.
    • Ability to display a patient and calm demeanor coupled with a loving approach to every child
    • Comfort using technology
    • Understanding of RIE and Montessori methodologies
