    Our CPG client is experiencing strong growth and seeking their first senior leader to lead the finance and accounting function. This newly-created role will provide strategic management of the finance and accounting functions and overall business acumen and leadership as they enter their next big phase of growth. The ideal candidate will have led the finance and accounting function in an entrepreneurial environment and can be sensitive to change management initiatives and implementing systems and processes to support the organization's next phase of growth.  As the senior finance leader at the table, this role with be instrumental in the execution of the firm's vision and mentor a team of 2.

     

     What You’ll Tackle:

    • Work closely with members of the Senior Management Team on a variety of strategic issues affecting the Company.
    • Oversee financial forecasting and reporting, cash flow, tax and other compliance matters and the accounting function.
    • Direct accounting policies, procedures and internal controls including overseeing monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting closes.
    • Assist during future fundraising efforts including due diligence activities.
    • Manage financial reporting to investors and banks as well as internal stakeholders.
    • Manage the relationship with independent auditors and bank.
    • Oversee financial systems and related upgrades or implementations.
    • Manage insurance relationships and risk management.
    • Develop the finance team.
    • Review, negotiate and manage contracts.
    • Optimize assets and resource allocations for the Company.
    • Additional financial duties, as needed.

     

    What It Takes:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, management, or other related field
    • CPA and MBA (both preferred)
    • 8+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
    • Deep accounting experience, knowledge of GAAP.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical background.
    • Experience in entrepreneurial environments.
    • Experience with venture-backed businesses.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Solid understanding of financial models along with mastery of Microsoft Excel.
    • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
