    Job Description

    The Commercial Analyst is a key member of the North American Commercial Finance team and is responsible for assisting in the month end performance management and reporting, the annual budgeting process, rebate accounting and other commercial support as required.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide the necessary support to the business to help it understand key drivers of variance/s to budget
    • Support the month end management report in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with the Breville Group reporting timetable, including number preparation and commentary on monthly results
    • Assist the Senior Commercial Analyst with ownership of the Power BI tool ensuring it reflects accurate information
    • Understand all trading terms in all customer and agent agreements/arrangements
    • Manage the set up of new rebates / trading terms in D365 and the accurate accounting of accruals for all rebates, customer allowances and maintenance of the rebate reconciliation
    • Responsible (with assistance from the credit team) for matching up claims taken with the accounting accruals ensuing only valid rebate claims are deducted by retailers. Material variances to be flagged with the Senior Commercial Analyst and VP of Sales or individual National Account Manager
    • Responsible (with assistance from the Senior Commercial Analyst) for accurate accounting regarding customer promotion claims and for maintaining the accrued promotions reconciliation
    • Support the annual budgeting process in North America, including detailed input into the host system of individual variables (e.g. FOB) and required reporting
    • Aid with the monthly outlook process including updates to the Planful system resulting in the first cut draft of the monthly outlook for North American entities
    • Assist in the calculation and monitoring of stock reporting, including excess inventory balances
    • Perform financial analysis as requested
    • Contribute to fulfilling certain aspects of return on investment (‘ROI’) analysis as requested, including brand ambassador, promotional spend, capex in store investment and point of sale (‘POS’) data
    • Assist as needed on the monthly deals report and maintaining the deal register
    • Maintain awareness of and compliance in relation to OH&S and injury management with health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business (with Accounting or Finance major) or related discipline
    • 1-3 years previous experience as a Commercial or Business Analyst, or other relevant role, preferred
    • Solid excel budgeting and data analysis skills
    • Questioning and probing approach
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage at all levels of the organization
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to solve problems and take initiative with a critical thinking capability
