    Job Title: Bridge Engineer / Construction Inspector

    Location: Various project sites (primarily New York City, with potential assignments nationwide)

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bridge Engineer / Construction Inspector to support bridge inspection and construction projects. This role involves field inspection, documentation, and coordination with engineering teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on inspection experience, relevant certifications, and the ability to work in physically demanding and dynamic environments. Opportunities to contribute to engineering calculations and design work are available for qualified candidates.

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform bridge and structural inspections in accordance with NYC and applicable regulatory standards

    Document field observations, prepare inspection reports, and maintain accurate project records

    Ensure construction work complies with plans, specifications, and safety regulations

    Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and project managers

    Monitor construction activities, materials, and workmanship

    Assist with engineering calculations, analysis, or design tasks (as applicable)

    Travel to and work on project sites across the country, potentially for extended durations

    Required Qualifications

    Minimum 2 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably bridge or structural inspection

    ACI Certification meeting requirements for bridge inspection in New York City

    Strong understanding of construction practices, materials, and safety standards

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

    Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including nights or weekends as needed

    Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing/walking for extended periods

    Preferred Qualifications

    ICC certifications (highly desirable)

    Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university

    Experience with bridge inspection programs (e.g., NBIS)

    Familiarity with inspection software and reporting tools

    Ability to assist with engineering design, calculations, or analysis

    OSHA certification (e.g., OSHA 10 or OSHA 30)

    Physical & Work Requirements

    Ability to remain active and on your feet for a full shift

    Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

    Ability to access elevated or confined areas (bridges, scaffolding, etc.)

    Must be adaptable to changing project locations and schedules
