Physician Orders Liaison - Home Health - Full Time - Bay Area
Job Description
The Physician Orders Liaison is responsible for functions within marketing, sales and/or business development for the home health and hospice agency. This position is essentially a combination of sales and operations, with a general purpose to coordinate the disbursement and return of agency required documentation per Federal and State regulations. The Physician Orders Liaison maintains relationships between the physicians and health care facilities within the community. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Develops a plan to educate the staff of physician offices on completing required documentation; assists the prescribed physician in the proper maintenance of patient medical records. 2.Acts as a primary point of contact and key interface between referral sources and the agency to ensure longstanding relationships. 3.Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all outstanding physician orders; updates the agency of any changes required to obtain signature. 4.Works collaboratively with multi-disciplines to make appropriate recommendations to enhance operational functions for a timely return and process of physician orders. 5.Works with individual physician offices on agency electronic software programs to allow safer and easier workflow process. 6.Visits physician offices on a weekly basis to drop off and pick up orders for timely processing and return. 7.Adheres to HIPPA guidelines. 8.Performs other duties as agreed on by the Area Director of Business Development and Director of Operations.
Qualifications
1.Strong professional presence, a willingness to travel, and strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking and organizational skills. 2.Associate's degree in marketing, sales, healthcare administration or another business-related field or minimum of (1) year of experience in outside healthcare sales or sales-related field.
