    Job Description

    The Revenue Cycle Associate is responsible for providing support, as needed, in various areas of the revenue cycle, which includes but is not limited to, eligibility, authorization, collections, and cash application.  Individuals in this position must be highly motivated with a desire to learn, detail oriented, and possess great communication skills.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

     

    1. Meets goals and objectives in assigned area
    2. Complies daily with departmental policies and procedures
    3. Performs collection activity to ensure proper resolution and reimbursement on claims
    4. Provides thorough, courteous, and professional assistance to coworkers and patients
    5. Ensures that all claims are billed and collected and meet all government mandated policies for Integrity and Compliance
    6. Resolves claims processing issues with third party payers and provide all required information timely; involves patients and family members (where necessary) to ensure timely resolution of claims with insurance companies
    7. Resubmits clean and accurate claims to insurance companies in a timely and compliant manner
    8. Researches, prepares, and submits appeals to insurance companies
    9. Details all actions taken on account with clear and concise notes
    10. Monitors and recognizes denials and/or issues that may be trends and escalate to supervisor as needed
    11. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Qualifications

    Position Qualifications

    1.      High school diploma or GED required

    2.      2+ years of Revenue Cycle experience 

    3.      Home Health and/or Hospice industry experience preferred

    4.      Intermediate to expert knowledge of Excel or knowledge to guide Excel superusers to             develop reporting 

    5.      Experience working in multiple EHR/PMS 

    6.      Track record of driving operational process improvement
