  • Responsibilities

    We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Accounts Payable Specialist to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Construction Accounts Payable Specialist's responsibilities include

    Job Cost Accounting is the primary function of this role

    Process vendor payable invoices timely and with a high degree of accuracy

    Ensure proper general ledger coding is utilized and appropriate approval is obtained

    Communicate with vendors regarding payable invoices

    Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles

    Work with management and other departments to continually improve processes

    Set up new vendors in accounting system, obtain W-9 forms from all vendors and maintain files

    Maintain large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures

    Perform data entry associated with accounts payable and General Ledger coding

    Address and respond to vendor inquiries

    To be successful in this role, you should have -

    Working knowledge of office devices and processes

    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    Excellent multitasking and time management abilities

    Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Excel, MS Office

    Ability to prioritize and work independently

    Ability to meet deadlines

    Able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to a broad range of audience including executive level managers and customers

    Organized team player with proactive and positive attitude

    High degree of attention to detail and problem-solving ability

    Strong analytic abilities

    Job Requirement

    Associate degree in Accounting required

    Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred

    1 - 3 years of accounting/payables experience
