COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Think tank with offices in San Francisco and Sacramento has a terrific Communications Manager position. The organization creates strategic policy research that is used by its audience to develop solutions to support a healthy economy, environment and society. As an integral member of the team that creates and disseminates policy research, this position will contribute extensively to the development of research reports, publications and other products. The position will manage the complete lifecycle of the editorial and production processes for their products, as well as generate content for their blog, website and other forms of digital media. Candidates should have approximately 7+ years of relevant experience and must possess a strong ability to translate technical language into comprehensible, high quality reports. Experience with environmental or related policy work is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with a team of researchers and other stakeholders to create objective, high quality reports that are leveraged to drive policy
• Partner with researchers beginning with the design phase on the editorial process for all products
• Oversee and create content for blog posts, the website, social media and other digital assets
• Contribute to data visualization projects, where appropriate
• Interface with media and other stakeholders, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Approximately 7+ years of relevant communications experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Outstanding writing and editing skills
• Ability to translate technical language
• Thrive in a highly collaborative environment
• Environmental policy or similar communications experience preferred
