Overview of Position:

TheMechanic is responsible for providing support to the plant production crew with line mechanical issues; safely performing planned/unplanned maintenance on plant processing equipment; and performing building maintenance as necessary to assure reliable daily processing capabilities within the Facility.

Key Job responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues: evaluate the condition of the equipment, diagnosis, identify the source of the problem and make necessary corrections
• Perform preventative maintenance in a timely manner and document in detail the work performed
• Install, maintain and repair various mechanical electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic based in the production equipment and building
• Make parts, structures and equipment using the tools available in the maintenance shop
• Install new production equipment and make connections as necessary for the proper functioning of new equipment
• Help with developing the computerized preventative maintenance

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required, technical or vocational training a plus

Technical Skills:

• Understand GMPs
• Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, DEP, EPA, TCPA, GMP’s, OSHA, federal and state regulations
• Experience with repairing and maintaining industrial equipment, engine, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, or other similar equipment
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical wiring and controls
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Must own a complete set of mechanics tools

• Good ability to convey concepts and ideas
• Good written skills

• Follow all safety, health, environmental and company rules
• Required to use all types of hand/power tools and some machine shop equipment and if qualified, would include welders, grinders, break, shear band saw, and press
• Ability to work in all areas and environments to include confined space and elevated areas
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally
• Regular bending, lifting, crouching, reaching both below the waist and, above the head
• Full manual dexterity with both hands and wrists
• Ability to stand/walk 8-12 hours as needed
• Ability to Safely climb stairs and ladders without limitations
• Occasionally work in heights including attic spaces and rooftops
• Ability to work in cold environments (coolers, freezers and blast units)
• Ability to work all shifts and any hours, weekends and holidays as needed
• Regular, dependable attendance is an essential function of this position
• Some computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)

Shift Schedule available:1st Shift (6 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

3rd Shift (10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.)

Monday - Friday + Weekend Availability
