Brienza's Academic Advantage is looking for part-time teachers to join our qualified team of educators in Brooklyn, specifically the Bushwick, Bedford Stuyvesant, and East New York neighborhoods. Your work will help students improve their academic skills and standardized test scores in Math and Reading. Your duties will include providing knowledge and instructions to students in conjunction with their classroom teacher.

Teacher responsibilities are:

• Conduct lessons in a comprehensive manner to facilitate learning

• Assist each student individually by promoting interactive learning in your small group

• Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback

• Interact with other teachers, supervisors, and school administration         

  Teacher requirements are:

  • Eligible Fingerprinting by the Department of Education
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention and Schools Against Violence workshops
  • Teaching Experience in Reading and Math preferred
  • Knowledge of current teaching pedagogy
  • Strong communicability and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, energetic, committed, and creative
  • BA Degree required for teachers, Master's Degree in Education and teacher certification highly preferred
  • Cannot be a Department of Education teacher for the past 13 months unless retired
