The Medical Scheduling Coordinator is a key role within the organization, responsible to coordinate and maintain scheduling for all of BrightStar Care of Ventura, CA clients and staff. BrightStar Care of Ventura is a state certified Home Health company providing long term medical services to our clients in their home or facility.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certified Nursing Assistant License
Prior medical scheduling experience is highly desired and training will be available.
Computer skills including but not limited to MS Office (Microsoft Outlook), MS Excel and ability to learn company scheduling software.
Basic understanding of medical terminology.
Demonstration of Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to stay focused and positive.
Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and management of multiple tasks
Ability to carry out directions and follow through - ability to effectively communicate to all office staff.
Previous experience working in a team environment.
Professionalism, demonstrated leadership abilities and able to navigate effectively the demands of the job.
Responsibilities:
Understands and adheres to established BrightStar Care of Ventura policies and procedures.
Creates and maintains all caregiver and skilled care schedules with our clients.
Provides staffing for sick leave, vacation, long term leave.
Schedules client appointments/visits according to care plans and staff availability.
Enters scheduling data and creates schedules.
Contacts care providers and clients regarding day-to-day schedule and changes.
Discerns client services required as outlined in agreements, urgent requests and care plans.
Enters staff and client information into database.
Maintains staff and client database (e.g. PIP data, dates and reminders of TB and other employment data, client admission, client hospital admission and discharge).
Maintains staff and client statistics, and reports.
Performs general office duties including but not limited to word processing, photocopies, files, shredding, sort/distributes mail, provides reception and telephone services.
Participates in HR chart auditing for compliance.
Demonstrated ability of self management to satisfy position requirement and daily objectives.
Provides on-call weekend support for schedule related situations concerning clients and staff.
Generates call-in and retention reports.
Participates in weekly staff meeting.
Develops employee weekly schedule for on call phone duties and be an acting weekly participant.
Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends.
Work Environment:
Duties are performed indoors in the BrightStar Care of Ventura, CA office as well as, private residences.
