    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Project Manager to join the Brightspeed team! Reporting to the Director, Operational Governance, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of Network Operations projects. As Project Manager you will make a significant and immediate impact leading a variety of projects, both technical and operations, of varying sizes, from start to finish – coordinating the players and keeping them up to date on progress and deadlines; developing and managing to the project budget, schedule, and operating procedures; and gathering and reporting consolidated project status and financial information. You will assist with some center operations tasks including creation and management of center documentation and metrics reporting as well as organization communication. You will be instrumental as the member of a small PMO to contribute to the PMO processes and continual improvement.

    As Operations Project Manager, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:

    • Lead the planning and implementation of projects and be accountable for execution within the defined project constraints
    • Facilitate the definition of project goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects
    • Coordinate internal resources and Telco Operators/third parties/vendors for the execution of projects; involve all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility and efficiency
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
    • Develop detailed project plans/methods to monitor and track progress
    • Ensure resource availability and allocation
    • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
    • Perform risk management to communicate, minimize, and mitigate project risks
    • Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management
    • Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes while successfully managing the relationship with all stakeholders
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Monitor and report on budgeted project expenditures
    • Provide weekly reports on activities and project status
    • Efficiently manage multiple projects of varying sizes
    • Continuously improve project management practices based on lessons learned in the design and implementation processes
    • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
    • Collaborate with others in open and productive dialogues across cross functional teams’ initiatives
    • Recommend changes or policies to increase department effectiveness and customer satisfaction
    • Recognize and act on new opportunities while maintaining focus on the company goals, customer accounts and program/project objectives
    • Create and maintain center documentation
    • Coordinate, consolidate and present center metrics for both internal and regulatory requirements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Telecom, Operations Leadership, Business, or related field
    • 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross team projects
    • 7+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in telecommunications or engineering
    • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
    • Must be able to read, understand and apply technical standards
    • Must be able to understand, interpret, relay, and conduct technical network discussions
    • Strong technical skills in data equipment such as routers, switches, and wireless LAN
    • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in Telecom service delivery standards
    • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
    • Quick learner with excellent written & verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills
    • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, context switching, and cope with deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Expert in JIRA and SmartSheets
    • Proficient in project planning and life cycle development tools
    • Certified Project Manager (IAPM) or equivalent

    BONUS POINTS FOR:

    • Deep familiarity with fiber technology relating to engineering, construction, installation, and network monitoring a final product
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PM or Project Management Degree
    • Microsoft Power App including Power BI
