    Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) is growing! We are seeking a talented Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to join our dynamic Herman Construction Group team, a subsidiary of BBCH. This position is based in Houston, TX. Responsibilities: • Perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, and site safety orientation, activity-specific training and enforcement for the Contractor • Conduct daily safety and health inspections, maintain a written log which includes date of inspection, area/operation inspected, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections • Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily quality control report • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and sub-contractors • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site • Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory inspection meeting, and periodic in-progress meetings • Implement and enforce accepted APP's and AHA's • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution, then post a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies on the site safety bulletin board • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets Project Scope of Work Design-Build with US Army Corps of Enineers valued at 22M and includes the repair of exterior stone façade of the 14-story Chidren’s Nutrition Research Center located at 1100 Bates Ave, Houston, TX, 77030. Scope of work also includes joint sealant replacement, HVAC repair/Refurbishment, Clean Agent Fire Suppression System, and Roof Replacement. Construction Duration is anticipated to be from Jan 2024 – May 2025 Qualifications: • Five (5) Years construction or general industry safety experience. • On Site Full Time • 30-hour OSHA Construction Industry safety class • First Aid/CPR card within the last two years • As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunities to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Conditions Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise. Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 yearly
