  • Responsibilities

    The Facilities Project Manager maintains and oversees an organization’s grounds, buildings and equipment including negotiating contracts with service providers, inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. This person would be responsible for overseeing a facility support contract totaling $6M over 5 years. The facility is at the National Law Enforcement Communication Center in Orlando, FL. The embedded facility team consists of three full-time employees responsible for the day-to-day activity with a supplemental tri-hat assisting with any resultant repair-type construction projects. The job is located in Orlando, FL – no remote work involved. Responsibilities: • Delegating cleaning and maintenance tasks. • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces. • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed. • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors. • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals. • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders. • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff. • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions. • Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facility’s needs. Qualifications: • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems. • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members. • Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities. • Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills. • Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A.A.) or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Facilities Management or an Engineering field OR High School/GED with ten years of on-the-job experience or completed facilities management coursework in a technical or trade school, and practical training in leadership, project management, communication, sustainability, and operations management. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Additional Qualifying Factors As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post-accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
