    Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) is growing! We are seeking a Sr. Civil Superintendent to join our civil construction team. The Superintendent is responsible for site management, providing leadership to the field team including craft personnel and subcontractors, to ensure successful completion of projects. The Superintendent works directly with the Project Manager and other members of the site management team to ensure the safe, timely, and quality completion of the project. Responsibilities: • Work closely with the Project Manager to fully comprehend the scope, schedule, and budget, then implement fieldwork accordingly • Implement fieldwork in accordance with site-specific planning documents (e.g., Work Plan, Safety Plan, Quality Control (QC) Plan, SWPP, etc.), permits, and client-specific requirements • Lead the field team and subcontractors in safety talks daily, in conjunction with the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) • Evaluate competencies of heavy equipment operators, and help train personnel in safe operations of equipment and scope of work, when necessary • Evaluate competencies of laborers and other craft personnel; train and/or mentor when necessary • Manage daily work activities (i.e., means and methods) of field crew • Assist in cost estimating for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs • Collaborate with Project Managers to clearly understand the project, budget, and implement fieldwork accordingly • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely materials and equipment delivery • Assist in creating schedules for craft personnel and subcontractors • Assist in the identification and hiring of additional subcontractors and local craft personnel • Maintain a daily log for job site operations, reporting to management as necessary • Make recommendations to the project manager for changes in field operations to best meet construction deadlines, and implement the same following approval from project management • Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient Qualifications: • 10+ years experience as a superintendent or in a similar role in the heavy civil construction industry in self-performance of all civil infrastructure scopes of work including but not limited to earthwork/grading, dam/levee repair and/or repair, dewatering, demolition, underground utilities (e.g., water/sewer/storm), road construction and repair, asphalt pavement, and concrete construction • Excellent communication abilities, including writing, speaking, and active listening • Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices • Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingencies • Understanding of construction equipment, including daily inspections, safe operating practices, and maintenance requirements • Understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations • Problem-solving and decision-making skills • Effective leadership abilities, including time management, delegation, prioritizing, and multitasking • As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results Travel: Extensive travel to worksites is required. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, climbing, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
