    Job Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Determines clinical necessity (including preauthorization, admittance, continuation, and discharge) for residents to ensure accuracy of placements under supervision and as directed by the supervisor. 2. As assigned, leads Resident treatment team meetings on a weekly basis, reviews or completes service plan reviews at least every three months (or at least monthly if clinically indicated), and reviews or completes service authorization requests with external payors when indicated to determine if program requirements continue to be met. 3. Responsible for supervision of clinical staff upon direction of Clinical Director. 4. Supervises clinical components of treatment program for Residents in conjunction with Clinical Director. 5. Adheres to established standards of practice within scope of practice for the LMHP/ Credentialed Addictions Professional's specific profession and within program guidelines. 6. Provides behavioral health care services to participants during assigned hours of program operation and is available outside scheduled hours as needed. 7. In conjunction with Supervising LMHP, Program Director, and/or Operations Director, supervises health and safety management of residential programs. 8. Through review of medical information and recommendations, and if indicated, in collaboration with RN and other treatment team members, ensures stability of individuals being admitted or seeking admission to residential program. 9. Supervises and/or conducts pre-admission interviews with individuals seeking admission. 10. Lead clinician in effective discharge planning / assists other team members in developing effective discharge plans for residents. 11. Supervises and develops person-centered individualized service plans in collaboration with the resident and with his/her family (with resident's consent), assesses and documents progress with goals and objectives, and revises service plans as needed. 12. With collaboration of the supervising LMHP, supervises and maintains accurate, current, and complete documentation of services provided in compliance with agency, program, and licensing policies, procedures, standards, and expectations. 13. Provides oversight to or directly provides coordination of all services for residents including assurance of active recipient involvement in all aspects of care, coordination and management of all services provided through appropriate agencies. 14. Supervises, assesses, and documents resident progress in conjunction with treatment team. 15. Supervises, initiates, and implements person-centered individualized service plans and documents related information. 16. Supervises, encourages, and monitors residents in daily programming, participates in recreational activities with residents when needed, and communicates problems, issues, or concerns to the treatment team. 17. Assists clinical staff with daily program scheduling by supervising residents in assigned educational activities when indicated and as directed by supervisor. 18. Ability to develop and deliver effective Briefs and presentations. 19. Adheres to all policies and procedures of Fairview and the rules and regulations and the Code of Virginia and observes expectations of the employee handbook and the LMHP profession's code of ethics. 20. May function as Manager on Duty (MOD) per shift request per Director of Operations or another Executive Team member. 21. Performs relevant job duties as assigned by supervisor. Valid Virginia LMHP license or registered resident/supervisee in an LMHP eligible field. 2. Registered LMHP supervisor or ability to work toward becoming supervisory registered per level of experience. 3. Effective in team-building skills. 4. Current valid driver's license and good driving record. 5. If any legal intervention or arrest occurs with the staff member for any reason, including traffic violations, the incident must be reported to the staff member's supervisor via email or other written format within 24 hours of the offense 5. 18. Knowledgeable about confidentiality (HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2) regulations 6. Effective problem solving and decision-making skills. 7. Effective written and oral communication skills. 8. Ability to work with other agency personnel. 9. Effective interpersonal skills. 10. Ability to intervene in a crisis situation. 11. Willingness to work flexible hours. 12. Effective organizational and time management skills. 13. Certification in CPR and first aid. 14. Training in behavioral intervention according to State of Virginia standards upon hire with retraining consistent with that of their directing Board under VA DHP. 15. Successfully complete background checks prior to employment. 16. Successfully complete drug screening prior to employment and random drug screenings while employed at Fairview.
