    As a valued member of our team, you will coordinate activities of workers engaged in the transportation and delivery of mixed concrete and bulk constituent products by performing the following duties.

    Job Responsibilities

    Processes incoming order requests and inventory replenishment from customers (internal) for deliveries. Provides customers with delivery status updates and delivery time estimates. Monitors scheduling database to ensure information is available to allow for accurate forecasting of deliveries. Oversees delivery schedules to ensure deliveries are executed timely and that sites maintain optimal inventory levels. Provide support to internal customers. Respond to customer requests for delivery information and investigate customer delivery complaints

    Maximize the profitability of company fleet assets by maximizing loaded miles, payload, time utilization and equipment utilization. Optimize routes and create delivery schedules that produce the safest, most efficient and cost-effective logistical solutions. Manage the delivery process to ensure that deliveries are made in accordance with Fuel Transportation Agreements and the customer’s delivery requirements. Ensure adequate trucking resources are available to meet customer demand.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    1. Strong knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    2. Strong mathematical skills to calculate and interpret data.

    3. Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, multi-line phone, calculator, copy machine, etc.

    4. Strong written communication skill to compose emails and basic reports.

    5. Strong oral communication skill to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner either over the phone or in person. Ability to communicate clearly via telephone, e-mail, or text messaging systems.

    6. Strong interpersonal communication skill to work effectively with others in order to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions.

    7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    8. Ability to make responsible decisions in a timely manner.

    9. Able to work day shift or night shift.

    10. Ability to read and understand documents, such as procedure manuals, reports, and correspondence. Ability to comprehend safety concerns and respond appropriately to protect personnel and company assets from physical and financial loss.

    12. Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously. Ability to work in high volume situation without become frustrated or disorganized. Must be able to think clearly when handling multiple tasks.

    13. Ability to provide a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to requests on a timely basis.

    14. Ability to provide support to other employees by providing them with accurate information and responding to requests on a timely basis.

    15. Ability to plan and schedule activities over the course of a month including identification of resources, implementation, monitoring, and follow-up activities.

    16. Ability to identify, define, and solve problems.

    17. Ability to work effectively with limited supervisory guidance. General internal policies, operating guidelines, or standard procedures are utilized.

    Manages the critical functions of:

    Receives orders for company’s deliveries of products such as Ready mixed concrete, rock, stone, and sand.

    Moving orders to the correct locations taking into consideration time, traffic, inventory levels, and customer demands.

    Monitors Drivers on the tracking screen.

    Communicates with Supervisor and Drivers to schedule deliveries according to factors such as truck capacities, distances to delivery sites, and unloading time.

    Rosters dispatch to the trucks. Ensures that all loads are hauled and ticketed promptly and accurately.

    Ensures that the ticketing system is functioning properly at all times.

    Ensures that the tare weights in the system are frequently uploaded as required.

    Communicates effectively with loading and unloading facilities as needed.

    Maintains contact with Drivers via tablets to expedite deliveries.

    Assists in the preparation of reports as required.

    Competencies

    Required Education/Experience

    1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    2. One to three years of high volume transportation-related Dispatching experience, preferably in a construction/transportation related environment

    3. Experience in using similar transportation related computerized system

    4. Some management or supervisory experience would be very desirable

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel

    25 - 40% travel within assigned region, limited extended travel may be required.
