    Job Description

    The Senior Manager of Information Systems for Storage will provide leadership and guidance in the day to day operations, incident management, and future strategic direction of the Storage Infrastructure for Corporate Hosting Services.  This role will be responsible for day to day personnel management that includes staffing requirements, hiring, scheduling, development, coaching, and evaluating team members. This function also requires interfacing with: Superiors, Peers, and Customers internally or externally when necessary. The successful candidate will be well versed in current Storage Technologies, Detail Oriented, and have excellent problem solving skills and hands on capabilities. The position requires a vast knowledge of state-of-the-art SAN, NAS, and Cloud Storage Solutions, I/O performance, replication and disaster recovery capabilities. In addition to managing the teams maintaining the existing storage infrastructure this position will be responsible for architecting the future direction of the storage infrastructure, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and manage the implementation of these strategic technologies. The candidate must also have working knowledge of Operating Systems, Server Hardware, and Networking and how these entities are integrated into the infrastructure to support the corporate goals, business applications, product solutions, and their operational requirements.   RESPONSIBILITIES:    

    • Manage the Storage and Backup/Recovery Staff and assure 24x7x365 coverage of the Storage Infrastructure with properly trained and effective support personnel.
    • Provide leadership during service impacting events. Work with teams to provide quick Incident Response, Root Cause Analysis, and Incident Review and follow-up Reporting.
    • Provide regular status reports and project information to the Management team including regular trends and statistics of the storage infrastructure overall health.
    • Work with Management and Vendors to insure maintenance and contracts are current and the infrastructure is supportable.
    • Assist in the Research, Design, Testing, and Implementation of short and long-range strategies for the storage infrastructure - changes in configuration, technology and processes pertaining to storage infrastructure and managing the environment.
    • Collect and present data for reporting, technical direction, and capacity planning.
    • Assist the technical staff where necessary in the management of a multi-site enterprise storage environment, including replication for D.R., monitoring and troubleshooting storage issues and failures.
    • Assist in Training and Mentoring staff.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have enterprise storage experience in both SAN and NAS storage technologies, as well as a working knowledge of Cloud provided storage solutions.
    • 7+ years of experience in I.S. comprised of Enterprise Storage Management, Operating System Support, Network Communications, Application Integration, Monitoring and Alerting, and Operational Process development and control.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud storage migrations or deployments.
    • Experience with AWS Storage Services such as Amazon S3, EFS, EBS, etc.
    • Manage a cloud and multi-site enterprise storage environment, including replication for D.R. and monitoring.
    • Experience in managing technical staff, consultants, and/or contractors.
    • Experience in managing Projects and Project Teams. Project management skills helpful.
    • Experience in high availability, 24/7/365 virtualized infrastructures.
    • Able to solve problems using a methodical and logical approach.
    • Effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be flexible to work occasional overtime on short notice.
    • Available to be on-call during off-hours.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
