    Job Description

    We are looking for a Staff Tax Accountant to join our team! 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
    • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
    • Prepares federal, state, or local tax returns for individuals, business establishments, and other organizations.
    • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
    • Report analysis and findings to management team

    GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Examines accounts and records and computes taxes owed according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
    • Completes forms for tax refunds.
    • Advises management regarding effects of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
    • Ensures that organization complies taxing authority requirements.
    • Represents organization before taxing associations.
    • Organizes and maintains tax records and conducts tax studies and special projects.
    • Monitors, reviews and verifies accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness and adequacy of supporting documentation.
    • Ensures compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution.
    • Clarifies or researches issues as necessary.
    • Provides input for the development of accounting applications, reports, forms, records and documented procedures.
    • Assists in development of financial projections and forecasts.

    ​QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
    • Eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
    • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
    • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
    • Detail and deadline-oriented
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
