    About the Position

    The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for strategically driving revenue growth opportunities, managing the capital equipment sales cycle, and building client relationships with industry key opinion leaders in the Boston/Cambridge territory. The Technical Sales Specialist will execute the critical business functions of identifying, developing, and growing the company’s key customer base – Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Cell Therapy, and Academic Research Institutions in the Boston regional market. The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for managing existing accounts, hunting for new business development opportunities, developing and executing the territory's sales strategy, and deploying customer-centric plans to manage and accelerate the sales cycle. The Technical Sales Specialist will consult with clients on their research, coordinate instrument demos with internal and external teams, and offer solutions to help address the client's needs and support their research goals.

     

    About the Job Requirements

    • 2+ years of technical sales experience in the Life Sciences, preferably in the areas of cell biology or molecular biology
    • Capital equipment sales experience is preferred
    • Experience doing instrument demos with customers is a plus
    • Established network and client portfolio across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic market segments
    • Strong experience in account management, new business development, contracts and supply agreements, customer relations, and strategic and tactile sales
    • Able to speak fluently about the biological sciences and techniques used for assay development and cell biology research
    • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and desire to succeed
    • Works well with others in a matrixed sales environment
    • BS degree in Biology or related scientific field in required
    • Previous experience working as a Scientist or Researcher is a plus
    • Home-office based with up to 50% local field travel may be required (very minimal overnights)
