    Our client is a rapidly growing biotechnology company dedicated to helping researchers move closer towards the promise of personalized medicine. We provide high-quality products and services to researchers to enable protein biomarker discovery. Our continued growth and recent launch of new products have created the opportunity to expand our Business Development Team in several key geographies. We are looking for an enthusiastic, technically savvy, and commercially-focused Business Development Manager based in the San Francisco Peninsula Region to join our team and drive sales into the Pharma, Biotech, and Academic sectors.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Grow overall revenue from service and kit business units
    • Provide technical presentations to potential clients interested in protein biomarker discovery
    • Manage existing and new biomarker discovery projects within these accounts
    • Provide study design guidance and work closely with Project Coordination team to ensure client satisfaction
    • Present complex material to potential customers in an easy-to-understand manner while being able to address and answer technical questions
    • Bring creative solutions to clients and be able to understand the value drivers within their organizations
    • Map key accounts
    • Maintain updated customer and opportunity information in Salesforce
    • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and technologies
    • Work closely with other Business Development Managers to maximize commercial success

    Qualifications/Skills

    • BS, MS or PhD in Biology or related field
    • 5+ years relevant sales experience
    • Proven track record of performance in a customer facing role
    • Technical experience with proteomics or biomarker discovery a plus
    • A relevant network of contacts within territory
    • Ability to work flexibly between a home office and in the field with clients
    • Ability to travel within assigned territory
    • Attend national trade shows when needed
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic and desire to succeed
    • Self-starter that has an entrepreneurial spirit and drive
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
    • Able to meet or exceed revenue targets
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Self-confident and outgoing personality
    • Open to learn from more experienced members of the team
    • Willing to teach members of team and share relevant experiences
