    Job Description

    This is a RN-PRN Role with a Flex Schedule

    The ideal candidate must be able to work 2 shifts per month, 1 shift must be a weekend shift and at least 1 summer or winter holiday! Extra shifts when available is highly desirable....

    Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the incumbent provides delegated resident care and assists with shift routines. The nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients. The nurse participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing support and information about nursing services.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    1. Provides safe, direct physical care of the resident.

    2. Maintains a clean, safe and orderly resident environment by keeping the area clean and disposing of soiled, contaminated items.

    3. Reports malfunctioning, broken, or hazardous equipment or conditions to the supervisor.

    4. Observes policies and procedures as demonstrated through performance of procedure and tasks.

    5. Conducts and documents a thorough assessment of each resident’s medical status upon admission and throughout the resident’s course of treatment.

    6. Assists in the development and implementation of an individualized treatment plan for each assigned resident.

    7. Completes required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

    8. Oversees care delivery by Geriatric Nursing Assistants and Certified Medication Assistants.

    9. Attends and/or participates in rehab team conferences regarding resident progress, problems and needs.

    10. Acts in compliance with Broadmead regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.

    11. Assesses continuing education opportunities appropriate to discipline and responsibilities in order to maintain clinical currency.

    12. Adheres to facility policies and procedures and participates in facility quality improvement and safety programs.

    13. Must be able to work all shifts as assigned within a temporary schedule as open positions require.

    14. Accountable for promoting internal customer service.

    15. Abide by the organization’s code of conduct in the performance of their duties

    16. Perform other related duties as required

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

    • Valid license as an LPN nurse in Maryland

    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to hear, see and speak adequately (with or without accommodations) to perform the essential functions of the job

    • Ability to perform repetitive movement actions including walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time to adequately perform the essential functions of the job

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    • Ability to work in inside environmental conditions
