    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Broadridge is hiring! We currently are looking for an Associate UI Designer to join our organization. This is an excellent junior level opportunity for you to collaborate with our growing and creative UI team based out of our San Diego, CA location.

    In this role, you will join the UI/UX team supporting our IT Product Development Group.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    •                    Hand code and customize HTML, CSS, JS.

    •                    Convert approved mockups to working prototypes using HTML, CSS, and Javascript (including frameworks and plugins).

    •                    Implement UI code and assets into programming environments (mostly . Net; some Java and Coldfusion).

    •                    Ensure development is in accordance with corporate branding; style guides and other requirements.

    •                    Ensure all web views function as expected across our supported browsers. Assist with browser compatibility issues as they arise.

    •                    Understand and use current W3C standards and industry standard methodologies

    •                    Assist with identifying and evaluating new technologies and methodologies

    •                    Create/update wireframe mockups based on requirements provided

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science of an equivalent discipline
    • 1 1/2 to 2 years minimum developing website front ends.
    • 2 years with HTML5, CSS4, JS ES7: proficient hand-coding ability using standard methodologies and the latest standards
    • Proficient with CSS Grid and Flexbox.
    • Candidate must be proficient working in macOS and Windows operating systems.
    • jQuery: proficiency with jQuery library
    • Responsive Web Design: proficiency in creating/maintaining responsive sites
    • Experienced ability with Twitter’s Bootstrap framework.
    • HTML Email: proven experience designing responsive HTML emails
    • Proficiency with coding editors such as VS Code, Atom, Sublime Text, Brackets, Adobe Dreamweaver CC;
    • Cross-browser compatibility: solid ability in testing with IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, browser developer tools. Testing prominent mobile browsers.
    • UI/UX: solid grasp of principles; standards and standard methodologies
    • Candidates will be required to present their portfolio

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A BIG PLUS

    • Experience designing User Interfaces and User Experiences. Solid visual design background.
    • Experience using Visual Studio (2013 or later)
    • Angular JS: intermediate experience in developing
    • Liferay: any experience
    • Web Accessibility: good experience coding to WCAG standards
    • Experience with Balsamiq; Sketch; Axure; InVision; Adobe XD
