    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The HR Generalist will be a member of the Human Resources team, reporting to the Human Resources Director. The person in this role will be an integral part of the team, helping to promote a positive culture, address employee issues in a timely manner, recruit and train new hires and assist in driving employee retention and engagement.

     

    The HR Generalist will provide tactical and administrative support in the areas that include but may not be limited to recruiting and interviewing candidates, training new hires, administering pay, benefits, and leave, compliance, employee relations, onboarding, employee engagement, and enforcing company policies and practices.

     

    The person in this role will partner with leaders in the organization to support and provide guidance regarding employee relations issues and will maintain documentation and filing of records that are in compliance with company, local, state and federal requirements. They will work on projects and initiatives to further develop services provided within the HR team and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, etc.
    • Assists with recruiting, interviewing and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Facilitates new hire orientation and new hire training.
    • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs, in partnership with other HR leadership.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, team members, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Prepare personnel files and maintain compliance for audit reviews.
    • Assist in the development and update of job descriptions Utilize knowledge of company policies and state and federal legislation to maintain consistency and legal compliance.
    • Counsel supervisors on employee relations matters and recommend appropriate resolution.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
    • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS, ATS and performance management systems.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    • A bachelors’ degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • A minimum of 3 years HR Generalist experience required and at least one year of human resource management experience preferred. SHRM-CP a plus. Healthcare experience a plus.

     

    COMPENSATION

    A COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION PACKAGE COMPRISED OF BASE SALARY, $500 NEW HIRE BONUS PAYABLE AFTER 60 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT, EMPLOYER PAID LIFE INSURANCE AND AN OFFERING OF MEDICAL, DENTAL, VISION BENEFITS AND 401(K) RETIREMENT OPTION.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations’ facilities.
    • Ability to travel, including potential air travel.
