    GRAPHIC DESIGNER

    JOB SUMMARY

    HW Exhibits, a division of Brockington and Associates, Inc., is looking for a creative Graphic Designer to join our multi-disciplinary design team in Mount Pleasant, SC. This is a full-time position and is expected to start no later than November 1, 2022.

    HW Exhibits creates indoor and outdoor interpretive exhibits, interactive environments, conceptual plans, and websites for museums, parks, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and private companies. Our parent company, Brockington and Associates, is an independent heritage resources consulting firm and has been in business for over 35 years. Many of our projects are produced in conjunction with our staff archaeologists and historians and focus on cultural and natural history.

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, strong conceptual and technical skills, experience producing client-driven work, and an ability to deliver high-quality, innovative designs while meeting multiple project deadlines. A strong background in typography and interest in 3-dimensional design, wayfinding, exhibition design and environments are highly valued. Primary responsibilities for this role include space planning; conceptualizing and developing graphic programs; and designing digital interpretive products for exhibits. They will create exhibit floor and wall plans, renderings, and content for digital interactives. They will collaborate with clients and team members to create effective design solutions that communicate the client's message. The ability to explain why a concept is compelling and relevant are essential to this position.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    •  Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field
    •  Minimum 3 years of design studio experience
    •  Thorough understanding of color, composition, and typography principles
    •  Knowledge of the printing process and preparing files for print production
    •  Ability to work on multiple projects, while adhering to project timelines
    •  Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills
    •  Willingness to learn and take initiative
    •  Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
    •  Availability to travel to meet with clients and participate in exhibit installs
    •  Mac OS X user
    •  Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
    •  Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    •  Familiarity with SketchUp, AutoCad, Revit, HTML, and CSS a plus
    •  Experience with space planning, photography, illustration, and museum design a plus
