Warehouse Manager

General Outline:

Reporting to the General Manager this position takes on full responsibility for the management of BTN’s Schomberg Warehouse Operations. The focus of the manager is to obtain profit contribution for their location by managing and leading staff on the strategic direction and business objectives put forth by senior management. Functions and responsibilities will include the development and accountability of their divisional budget, execution of production, purchasing, shipping and receiving timelines, inventory availabilities, facility and capital planning, and development of star performers by leading and recruiting the best staff possible.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Financial

Create and develop alongside the General Manager a realistic daily, weekly, monthly and annual target for all costs and processes your division encounters

Create and monitor benchmarking targets that can be reported and analyzed in real time, that measure efficiencies and process improvement within your department

Gather and present at least three quotes, estimates and options surrounding capital and process improvements

Monitor and review all financial documents put forth by finance, to ensure accuracy against your departmental budget.

Work with the General Manager to assist in the planning and procurement of product that your department requires

Ensure PO’s are entered and all purchasing procedures are followed for information pertaining to your location

Ensure receiving procedures are in line to facilitate accurate and timely reporting for the Finance team

Distribution/Logistics

Work with the National Distribution Manager and Transportation Manager to assist in the packaging, planning and execution of all shipments in and out of your location

Ensure operations meet the expectations of the General Manager and BTN Head Office

Ensure that freight procedures are in line to capture the necessary daily and weekly requirements to fulfill customer orders as per the sales plan

Ensure that pick and packing practices are being administered in an efficient and effective way

Ensure that offloading practices are being administered in an efficient and effective way

Facility Management

Ensure procedures are in place to properly and accurately manage weekly availabilities, as well as entire inventory counts which take place twice a year

Ensure that procedures are in place so that inventories are up to date, and accurate

Ensure the locations are in the best possible conditions according to the season, with the goal of always having it “Tour ready”

Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are procured, maintained stored within the warehouse facilities

Staff Management

Responsible for the management of all staff within the department and following the organizational structure that ensures each member understands their own roles and responsibilities

Coordinate with the Human Resource Manager on any divisional policy or labour needs and requirements

Develop plans along with the General Manager that motivate employees and help them realize their career objectives by ensuring that performance evaluations as set by the Human Resources Manager are performed at least once a year

Responsible for training, coaching, counseling and disciplining staff while creating an environment that allows all staff the opportunity to offer information and opinions

Ensure that Health and Safety is first and foremost within our organization

Reporting

Responsible for submitting any daily, weekly, monthly or annual reports to the General Manager when requested and perform specific ad hoc reports where necessary
