Title/Position: Forklift Operator

Job Purpose

To execute all shipping and receiving tasks to ensure order accuracy, maximum efficiency and results with the use of minimal resources

Responsibilities:

1. Perform daily forklift checklist and ensure the forklift is in good working condition. Report any problems to your direct supervisor.

2. Safely load and unload products/materials/racks on or off trailers.

Unload/scan empty racks/cheps when trailers return

Load trailers based on loading documents. Ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly.

Ensure loads are properly secured in the trailer.

3. Ensure all product/material is stacked and stored properly in the designated area.

Move product from the packaging lines to the warehouse floor in a designated area.

Assist with setting up packaging lines if required by line supervisors

4. Notify your direct supervisor when problems arise or deadlines are not met

Requirements:

Excellent organization and time management skills

Fast decision making skills to resolve time critical issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

Able to work both as a team and individually

Work Conditions:

Full time

Seasonal intense (longer hours through spring and fall periods)

Fast paced environment

Work under pressure and in stressful situations

All BTN farm staff should expect to be physically involved in any farm operations at any point.

During peak season, staff are expected to work longer hours as well as weekend work.

Education & Experience

High school diploma required

Forklift License/certification
