Job Posting: Territory Sales Manager
About us: Valleybrook Gardens Ontario is a division of Brookdale Treeland Nurseries Ltd (BTN). We grow branded plant programs including: Heritage Perennials®, Jeepers Creeper® and Garden Gladiators at our greenhouse in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Expect long days and weekend work during our busy seasons.
The Territory Manager is responsible for growing sales in their territory, recruiting new independent garden centres to stock our brands and providing the highest level of service to our dealer network. The Territory Manager must work with efficiency and innovation to ensure the continued growth and success of their customer base and the company.
Tasks:
Assist the sales team in providing exceptional customer service and sales support.
Partner with customers to understand their needs, do their orders as required and be responsive to their inquires and needs.
Find new garden centres within your sales territory to purchase our programs.
Responsible for knowing our product lines and learning all computers programs used at Valleybrook.
Run all necessary reports in excel.
Maintain up to date information on sales and market trends.
Run daily process for online Christmas greens program.

Highly organized, able to prioritize, excellent people skills
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is a very important as is the ability to function as an effective team member
Able to create and promote opportunities for future sale
Excellent Interpersonal skills
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to cope with seasonal workload
Available to work extended hours and/or weekends with seasonal workload variances
Must have a valid driver license
Must be able to freely travel to the U.S.A., Overnight travel is required
Must be proficient in excel and other Microsoft office programs.
Education:
Must have a Post-Secondary Education, horticulture or business/sales preferred
Successful completion of sales and marketing courses considered a definite asset
Experience:
2-5 years in sales (retail, wholesale) required: retail garden centre sales a definite asset
Experience with perennial plants an asset
