    TITLE: Wholesale Account Manager

    MISSION: To plan, organize, and manage sales at the Wholesale yard, while promoting BTN products and providing the highest levels of assistance and service to all customers.

    SUMMARY: The Wholesale Account Manager is responsible to the VP of sales for effectively managing the sales activities of BTN’s wholesale yard. Primary sales activities will be to landscape contractors but will also include, garden centres, retail customers and municipalities. The Wholesale Account Manager must work with efficiency and innovation to ensure the continued growth and success of the wholesale yard and the company. It is imperative that you maintain good working relationships with all other BTN functions and employees while providing excellent service to our customers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

    Prime responsibility is to grow overall sales at the wholesale yard through exemplary customer relations and attracting new business.

    Maintain professional and courteous working relationships while dealing diplomatically and effectively with customers and with all other employees. Ensure timely and accurate flow of information from the customer to the BTN Team and back to the customer.

    Responsible for adequate visitation to all key customers, targeted and potential customers pre/post and during the selling/installation season. This requires the Wholesale Account Manager to understand the needs of each individual customer and fashion their sales support efforts accordingly.

    Duties to include but not limited to; providing quotes to residential and commercial landscapers, answering customer inquiries/concerns, assisting the customer with substitutions, sorting out customer problems and special needs, qualifying potential customers and running various reports.

    Responsible to become familiar with our current and future product lines. Must become familiar with all internal computer programs utilized at BTN. Must have excellent skills in excel, sales outlook and other Microsoft office programs.

    Responsible for assistance in entering orders when required and working with operations to co-ordinate deliveries, late pickups and postponed projects.

    Will be required to work some evenings and weekends at different times throughout the year.

    Liaise with other BTN departments and personnel to ensure that the sales activities of BTN are achieved in a timely and professional manner. Assist other departments as needed.

    Responsible for attendance and input at Sales meetings.

    Maintain and develop rapport with customers and provide sales support and advice.

    Work with the Division Manager and National Marketing Manager on all promotional materials for the wholesale yard: pictures, promotions, catalogue, clothing, website etc.

    Maintain knowledge of and execute all Nursery Safety Policies and Procedures as required by the company and other regulatory agencies.

    Responsible for the completion of required paperwork for company issued items in a timely fashion so as not to impede the work flow of other departments. I.e., Mileage, expense, and Returned Goods forms. Will be held accountable in the usage of company and/or rental vehicles to visit customers, cellular phones and laptop computers.

    EDUCATION:

    Post-Secondary education: Horticultural degree a definite asset

    Successful completion of Sales and Marketing courses considered a definite asset.

    EXPERIENCE:

    2 to 5 years’ experience in B2B sales.

    Must have a passion for building relationships, and strong working knowledge of ornamental plants.

    Must have excellent Microsoft office skills.

    SAP experience (preferred).

    SKILLS:

    A good attitude and excellent communication skills.

    The ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize are key to the success of this position.

    Excellent communication skills and telephone manner required to maintain good rapport with both internal and external personnel and to make effective oral and written presentations as required.

    Self-motivated and able to function independently in making decisions, planning travel schedules and getting things done.

    Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

    Able to function as an effective group member

    Able to take initiative to create and promote opportunities for future sales

    Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with many external contacts with various levels of responsibility, accountability and authority.

    Demonstrated flexibility and ability to cope with seasonal workload variances.

    Available to work extended hours and/or weekends during peak season as required.

    Must have a reliable vehicle and valid Driver’s License.
