Job Description

JOB PURPOSE  

The Social Media Intern will be responsible for supporting BKS’ marketing efforts as well as fundraising and engagement strategies. 

SCOPE OF INFLUENCE

•  Works with internal staff including but not limited to the Development Director and Executive Director on tasks
• Works with external clients such as funders, donors, foundations and grant makers
• Works with Board and staff on special events and peer to peer initiatives

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Creating social content including: memes, GIFs, Instagram Stories, social editorial videos, and beyond;
• Scripting and pulling assets including video, stills, GIFs from original content;
• Work collaboratively with the Development Department and Executive Director to ideate around content and strategy for social media;
• Testing and optimizing content for social media;
• Staying up to date on current social media trends and changing platform functionality;
• Weekly reporting for clients on qualitative and quantitative social performance;

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Great sense of humor and team player;
• Strong understanding of social media and the language of the Internet;
• Self-starter and unafraid to ask questions;
• Prior social media internship or experience preferred but not required;
• Addition knowledge in Adobe/Google is a plus: G Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects;
