Position : International Travel Companion & Personal Support Manny
Location: Princeton, NJ
Employment Type: Full-Time, Guaranteed Weekly Hours
Living Arrangement: Preferred Live-in (can leave most weekends), Live-out acceptable for local candidates
Overview:
Our agency is seeking a dedicated and energetic Manny to provide personal support and companionship to a 23-year-old client with autism. This full-time role includes being an integral part of his support system, encompassing extensive international travel and regular activities like playing basketball. The ideal candidate will serve as a mentor, actively engage in sports, and help navigate daily challenges with creative and proactive solutions
Responsibilities:
- Engage in physical activity and accompany the client to various recreational activities.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times and personal care.
- Drive and manage transportation to activities and appointments.
- Provide companionship and foster social interactions.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment.
- Collaborate closely with the mother, acting as an additional set of hands.
- Participate in professional training programs to tailor support specifically to client's needs.
- Flexible schedule management, including core hours from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM and availability for frequent travel and vacations.
Requirements:
- Experience with individuals with autism or special needs is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures.
- Physical ability to engage in sports activities and manage care responsibilities (Client is 6'4)
- High level of adaptability, patience, and creativity in problem-solving.
- Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally and not susceptible to seasickness (frequent cruises involved).
- Willingness to assist in personal care needs, including accompanying to men's bathrooms.
