JOB TITLE: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Department of the Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base, FL has a contract requiring a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator.

This position supports the religious education, spiritual growth and sacramental preparation components of the Eglin AFB Roman Catholic Community Program.

The coordinator oversees the development, programing and implementation of the Roman Catholic religious education program for grades K-12.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Eglin AFB Chapel Center (East Gate Chapel) and the West Gate Chapel

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: This contract begins on 01 March 2023.

SCHEDULE: Average 20 hours per week will be required, including work on Sundays.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

• Coordinate the overall development, programing and implementation of the religious education program
• Ensures that all religious education activities and teaching materials are in accordance with the doctrine and practice of the Roman Catholic Church
• Assists in matters related to the budget for the religious education program
• Develops a proposed 9-month calendar of events and scheduled classes
• Recruits, trains, oversees, supervises and coordinates all Roman Catholic Religious Education programs
• Prepares and coordinates sacramental celebrations of First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possess familiarity with and commitment to the Roman Catholic faith
• Provide documented proof of religious education in theology, theological studies, religious studies, or a related field of study
• At least 2 years experience as a Roman Catholic Religious Education Coordinator and/or 5 years teaching experience in a Roman Catholic religious education program
