    Job Description

Brown + Dutch Public Relations, Inc. / Consumer Product Events, a dynamic consumer packaged goods PR agency and “do it yourself” PR company in Malibu, is looking for a fresh superstar to create, manage and oversee our social media channels and build out automation of email marketing through our database/autoresponder, Infusionsoft. This position also serves as an administrator running the office, doing scheduling, proofreading and handling of all details from status reports to events. We seek a professional who has a compulsively detail-oriented work ethic, deadline oriented, a great critical thinker – that person who thinks beyond the immediate task and always takes the extra step beyond what was required.

The ideal candidate needs to specifically desire a career in PR and likes the idea of being groomed into your dream position. This is the #1 qualifier. You need to fit within our small agency passion-driven culture, as well as possess this very important list of skills:

    Uber excellent writer

Knows and has worked on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn platforms

    Natural critical thinking skills

Prioritization wiz and has proven tools to make this easy

    Proactive

Multitasker who can juggle ever-changing deadlines – and remain calm

    High ability to solve problems

    Very resourceful

    Proofreading master

    Detail oriented

Propensity to learn and master technology such as email automation systems/autoresponders

We are in the business of bringing ideas to the world, from solar powered EV chargers to diamond dust imbued skincare to luxury home lines for famed fashion mavens. We launch the incredible brainchildren of people who are making an important human imprint, and hopefully a legacy. As wildly diverse as our client’s products can be and some in various stages of their maturation, we feel passionate about supporting others who are courageous enough to bring their ideas into form and into a business. As publicists we are mouthpieces, bullhorns, the invitations to our client's personal parties (yes, it is very personal).

This Assistant team member is a very important part of this organization, whose contributions support the animation of this whole process.

Do you have a keen aesthetic to make a placement in Marie Claire a frameable work of art for our client? Do you have a persnickety propensity for proofreading and a sense of pride to ensure nothing incorrect ever goes out? We seek someone with an exceptional work ethic and the wish to grow with a company (we promoted our last assistant to an account coordinator and one of our assistants became a partner in the company).

You need to know how to use the phone, the post office and speak with strangers in the most elegant and polite way. This person is the front line of handling phones and must be well-versed in using multi-line desk phones, voicemail, transferring calls and handling the public on the phone.

You will support the efforts of both companies and a small staff of 4, including the principal. This is a highly responsible position and someone on whom the entire team depends, heavily. The work environment is a small office, fast-paced and very demanding but also casual and dog friendly.

The job is mostly operationally oriented; but also creative. This position is highly functional administrative engine that makes our team “go.”

We use PC’s, Microsoft Programs (OneDrive) and Google drive for collaboration, only. You've got to be a master of Excel and get excited about making sure that this machine is working clickity, click and helping the team stay in line, get to our appointments and meet our deadlines! If you think in systems and love the idea of finding new ways to get things to go faster; this is good. We really want to find someone who loves this stuff – as well as our small, barefooted office.

You'll work directly with the founder, a PR coordinator, account executives, our email automation guru, sales people and interns.
