    Job Description

    Browne Labor Law is a small civil rights firm that represents employees throughout California in cases dealing with a multitude of issues, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. We are hiring an attorney to join our team. THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTE.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-starter who can help us with our cases, including taking and defending depositions, conducting written discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial assistance. The successful applicant will work with David Browne and Of Counsel Attorney Devin Coyle of Devin Coyle Law (based in the Bay Area). David Browne and Devin Coyle co-counsel on all cases and are Of Counsel to reach other's firms. Our desire is to hire someone who can take on a significant amount of responsibility from the start and who can grow with us and our firms.

    Responsibilities:

    • Client management

    • Draft complaints, written discovery, affirmative motions, opposing motions, and general law and motion work

    • Take and defend depositions

    • Settlement negotiations and mediation

    • Trial preparation

    • Trial assistance

    Required Qualifications:

    • Licensed attorney in California

    • 0-5 years of employment litigation experience preferred but not required.

    • Wage and hour litigation experience preferred but not required

    • Superior analytical, research, and writing skills

    • Superior verbal communication skills

    • Ability to multi-task and stay organized

    • Excellent critical thinking skills

    • Team player with a great attitude is essential

    • Great work ethic

    Salary:

    • Commensurate with experience. We are open to hiring an experienced litigator or a candidate with less experience, or none at all.

    Work Location:

    • Flexible. We have an office in Santa Monica, CA that is available, but it is not required that the attorney work at this location.

    Schedule:

    • Monday through Friday preferred.
