Internships (Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design)
At Browning Day, our portfolio spans a broad range of project types. You can anticipate working on projects within civic, cultural, healthcare, higher education, hospitality, mixed-use, preservation and reuse, sports and wellness, and workplace. Our success is based on the client’s vision coming to life and includes a team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, and support staff who play a part in solving complex design problems. We are seeking a Project Manager who will add their skills and creativity to our diverse projects.
Reports to: STUDIO DIRECTOR/MENTOR
Through hands-on experience, our internships can enhance a student’s skills and we involve interns in all stages of the process. We strive to provide an environment where interns can both learn from professional mentors and contribute to project success.
Primary role is to deliver solutions that meet the functional needs of our projects, and create lasting, memorable spaces that bring value to our communities and our clients.
Preferred Technical Skills
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts and best practices within the profession, knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, and material application / manufacturer appropriateness.
Knowledge of design principles and the ability to interpret design concepts for implementation.
Ability to graphically communicate design concepts.
Proficiency in the following:
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Sketchup
Revit
AutoCAD
Understand the capabilities of 3D rendering software (Lumion, etc.)
Qualifications
Possess creative talent ability to share complex and diverse conceptual design ideas.
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to clients.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Priority is given to college interns at Junior, Senior or Graduate levels of educational development
Satisfactory completion of a background screening
May require COVID-19 vaccination and boosters.
Compensation
Seasonal position with a competitive hourly compensation.
