Bruce Oakley Inc. is looking for an accountant to join our Fertilizer division. Salary will be determined based on experience, and/or degree. Ideal candidate must be willing to do what it takes to get the job done and must work well with others. This is a report to work position. Accounting Degree or equivalent experience is required. This position will include cross training in numerous divisions. This is not a private sector accounting position. General knowledge of business, inventory, and month end processes are required. Salary will be determined based on experience, and or Education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Purchase orders
. Accounts Payable
. GL
. Monthly accounts Recon
. Bank reconciliations
. Month end process
· Responsible for reconciliation of various general ledger accounts
· Ensure all expenses are booked to the general ledger
· Maintain accounting records and files in an organized manner
· Apply principles of accounting to financial information and prepare the reporting
· Prepare monthly journal entries
· Gather and analyze accounting transaction to the general ledger
· Prepare information for monthly financial package
· Data entry a requirement at times
Qualifications:
· A degree in accounting or business
· Consideration will be given to candidates with relevant work experience
· SAGE
· Firm understanding of accounting
· Proficient with Microsoft Excel
· Detailed oriented
· Effective communication skills
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
