    Job Description

    We are a fast-paced, fast-growing intermodal trucking and logistics company based in South Holland, IL, looking for an experienced person to join our team with at least 1 year of relevant trucking customer service experience.

    Our Customer Service Reps / Assistant Dispatchers are a constant reflection of our company’s commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

    Responsibilities:

    · Review and enter work orders into our dispatch software, such as shipment details, identification of appropriate air carrier or ocean vessel assignment, routing details based on origin and destination, transit times, load or container equipment requirements, transport party information, etc

    · Track and trace active loads from A to Z within the dispatch software and provide updates to customers via phone and email

    · Schedule loads for pickup and delivery

    · Obtain charge confirmations from customers

    · Relay customer requirements/expectations to Dispatch Team

    · Reviewing loads in problem status and correcting necessary issues

    · Maintains daily driver sheets, BOL’s/POD’s, interchanges, and driver logs

    · Processing driver’s daily reports and paperwork

    · Generating in or out gate interchanges for street turns

    · Verify rates and bill to match the prenote – if no rate is provided on the prenote, rate verification/final charges email should be sent to the customer and scanned when confirmed

    · Verify date of each move corresponds with driver’s paperwork

    · Verify receipt of in and out gate and either signed POD or BOL

    · Verify container and chassis numbers and IEP correspond with driver’s paperwork

    · If there are miscellaneous charges, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is turned in (Hazmat sheets)

    · For miscellaneous/accessorial charges, verify that all approvals from customer or shipper/consignee are obtained (detention, storage, chassis, extra stop, and container cleanout charges)

    Requirements:

    · Minimum 1 year of customer service experience at a trucking company (intermodal experience required)

    · High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Four-year degree from college or university preferred.

    · Strong interpersonal and demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone skills.

    · Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

    · Must work well with others, including vendors, suppliers, and internal and external customers to achieve common goals.

    · Ability to develop solid working knowledge of intermodal transportation industry.

    · Ability to adapt to rapidly changing customer requests and requirements.

    · Ability to timely and accurately input and edit transaction data (including accessorial and discrepancies) in the Company's computerized order-entry system.

    · Ability to manage seasonally heavy workloads.

    · Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office programs or other comparable computer software programs.

    · Must possess and exercise excellent customer service skills at all times.

    · Must consistently demonstrate professional and pleasant behavior and effectively communicate in stressful situations and/or environments.

    · Other Skills and Experience preferred but not required

    · One or more years of related experience and/or training preferred.
