Our northend client is adding a Staff Property Accountant to their growing team. This is a well established, exciting organization that will offer the Property Accountant mentorship, support and growth opportunities.

The Staff Property Accountant responsibilities will include:

• Accurately report tenant payments received and due, and performs account analysis and reconciliation when there are Property Manager or tenant questions regarding their tenant statements.
• Researches and answers Property Managers’ questions regarding tenant statements.
• Reviews and approves work such as tenant credit memos, non-recurring tenant billings and questionable cash receipts.
• Prepares security deposit refund invoices
• Prepares tenant account analysis and reconciliations when tenants dispute charges to their accounts.
• Reviews accounts receivable agings for delinquencies, cash applications and prepaid rent applications.
• Calculate and enter monthly contract item accruals such as janitorial, security and utility expenses to match expenses to period incurred, and review trial balance for reversing of same entries in the next accounting period.
• Prepares balance sheet tie-out to balance the general ledger and commercial management systems.
• Prepares Preview Statements and distributes to field to ensure following month’s recurring charges and past due charges are accurate.

• Calculate and record appropriate depreciation and amortization of fixed assets, tenant improvements, and leasing commissions.

Qualifications of the Staff Property Accountant include:

• 2+ years of property accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• Yardi experience highly preferred

• Affordable housing accounting experience highly preferred
