    Job Description

    ACCOUNTANT/PAYROLL/HR Summary of Job Responsibilities - Accountant is responsible for all accounting recordation of the financial activities of the corporation including but not limited to the following: - Assists management in the financial development of current and future policies, priorities and procedures relating to fiscal management, budget, education and any accounting related updates or changes in the business entity. - Prepares and reviews all financial statements and reports for management and the owner. - Control and maintain the accounting information for all locations - (classes) which include Fairmont Memorial Park (cemetery), Fairmont Cremation Services and Bryan-Braker Funeral Home locations. - Export daily; all accounting related entries from SRS into Quickbooks - invoices & payments, ensuring the data is correct in both Quickbooks and SRS. - A/R - Accounts receivables originate in SRS (Mortuary Software) and is exported into Quickbooks, reconciling of the records in both modules before closure. This may include refunds, write-offs, collection of payments due. - A/P - Enter all invoices received - cost to the correct expense account and against the correct class. Print checks weekly ensuring all payments are timely, prepare for mailing - file for future reference. - Banking - Daily examines the deposits recorded to each class and compares them to the associated bank account in Quickbooks, also compares to the on-line information with First Northern Bank. Review and replenish request for Petty Cash, end of the month reconciliation of all bank accounts. Cash management of funds keeping appropriate balances and making transfers when needed. - Payroll - review timecards for management approval, prepare commissions backup, enter into Quickbooks payroll module. Print payroll checks, print associated reports and pay associated expenses. Prepare & deposit associated taxes semi-monthly, quarterly, and annual. - Reconciles all Fairmont Memorial Park property sales tracking endowment care payable, open and closing payable, and markers payable monthly - Sales & Use tax monthly deposits; prepares Quarterly report & files with State of CA - Accountant will monitor Endowment Care (E/C 1) binder, all associated recording of deposits and withdrawals in investment portfolio - works closely with Cemetery Secretary to ensure timely deposits of E/C and Quartley reports. Complete draft of Annual Report and forward with supporting data to E/C auditor. Works closely and exclusively with Auditing team for timely filing of the report to the DCA. - 401K Deposits, recordkeeping monthly and annually, reports data to outside broker for review, disbursements, and distribution of reports. - Monthly review of credit card purchases, receipts, and reconciliation of statements - General Ledger & subsidiary ledger entries, preparation of financial reports when management requests them. - Annual W'2s, W3, 1099's - Works with and supports CPA for annual Corporate Tax returns, Endowment Care Tax returns HR - all associated collection of forms related to staff employment (I9, W4, EDD forms), distribution of benefits information and forms for eligible employees (enter any associated employee portion into payroll). Tracks Vacation & Sick leave, records manually and electronically, compared to payroll data. Works with Insurance brokers for annual renewal of Employee benefits, Workers Comp Insurance and General Liability Insurance. Possibly other related Human Resource responsibilities.
