AVENUE LIVE - Avenue Live is a turnkey event planning and live event production company providing full-service event planning, audio, video, lighting, live streaming, and staging services for a wide range of both live and virtual events across the US as well as abroad. The Live/Virtual EVENT TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST supports a small but highly technical and innovative team of project managers and fellow technicians on location at live events as well as at our warehouse in Elburn, IL. The ideal candidate would have strong customer service and high-quality communication skills. While experience in the event production industry and knowledge of audio, video, and/or lighting as it pertains to use in corporate events is not required, it is a plus. Knowledge of web development would also be a plus. Additionally, the ability to be flexible and self-motivated is key.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EVENTS

• Set up/operate/support audiovisual equipment, including projection systems, lighting, audio, videography etc. for live events.
• Set up/operate/support virtual events through various methodologies.
• Work directly with clients on site to ensure successful events.

WAREHOUSE

• Assist in preparation for upcoming events by gathering and pulling needed equipment, cross-checking equipment lists, notifying Production Managers (PM’s) of any discrepancies, and loading of trucks.
• Assist in the return of equipment from completed events, quality control checks on the equipment for damage, missing parts, or other issues, and report of needed action to resolve inventory changes.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE TRAITS:

• Strong customer service and high-quality communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to remain calm in high pressure situations.
• Background in some or all of the following areas: technology, theater, music/performing arts, event production, video/audio/lighting, web development. Videography, and/or video editing.
• Understanding of basic AV equipment including audio, lighting, video, computer technology, networking, cameras, and/or low voltage systems.
• Ability to multitask.
• Works as a team player yet is capable of working and making decisions on their own.

_TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: _Regular use of hands to manipulate office equipment, phones and computer keyboard. Regularly lift company equipment in shipping cases and travel cases up to 100 pounds and move equipment in wheeled cases up to 300 pounds, with periodic maneuvering of palletized shipments on a pallet jack. Work is sometimes performed on ladders or lifts.

_TYPICAL WORK CONDITIONS: _Work is performed in a shop/warehouse environment with small finished office build out. Employee frequently interacts directly with staff members throughout the company and clients during the workday in both verbal and written forms. This position also requires travel of up to 50%. Some travel may be required on very little notice. Both live and virtual events will often require work outside of normal business hours and on weekends.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with potential for bonus incentives depending on business growth. Non event days and hours of work are tentatively 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday but negotiable for the appropriate applicant. On days when there are events, work hours are dictated by the schedule of the event and often include days which exceed 8 hours and include evening and weekend hours.
