    Job Description

    OVERVIEW

    Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) seeks an energetic, experienced, full-time Donor Engagement Manager to lead its fundraising efforts. The Donor Engagement Manager creates and implements strategies for all fundraising, including donor cultivation, the annual appeal, grants, and securing funds for BMFI’s education programs, capital improvements, and the endowment. The Donor Engagement Manager is also responsible for producing an annual report. This position reports to the Executive Director and has an annual salary in the $50k to $55k range.

    Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) is a nonprofit, member-supported motion picture theater and film education center located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. BMFI is dedicated to promoting shared experiences that entertain, engage, and educate audiences through a diverse range of independent-minded films, a full curriculum of courses, and an extensive program of special events. BMFI builds community through film culture, while maintaining strong connections to its historic venue's cinematic past.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    · The ideal candidate is a passionate, organized, creative, and motivated professional experienced in building and maintaining donor relationships for an arts organization, working collaboratively and strategically to meet fundraising goals, and possessing a knowledge of the principles, ethics, and practices of successful fundraising. Though not essential, this person would have an interest in the cinema, or at least be conversant about movies, as many of our constituents are enthusiasts.

    · Experience in prospect research is required.

    · Talent to produce creative, compelling, and precise written communications is required.

    · Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to speak about and advocate for BMFI with confidence and enthusiasm both one-on-one and to large groups is required.

    · Familiarity with Donor Perfect, Agile Ticketing Solutions software, or similar database software is required.

    · Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other related software on the Windows platform is required.

    · Experience in grant research and a record of successful grant proposals to foundations and/or government sources is strongly preferred.

    · Five years’ experience working in development is preferred.

    · Experience in supervisory role is preferred.

    · Familiarity with Philadelphia-area individual and foundation philanthropy is a plus.

    · Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.

     

    EDUCATION

    A Bachelor’s Degree is required with advanced degree and/or study in relevant graduate or certificate programs highly desired.
